Is ANWR Still Too Pristine?

This cell phone photo was taken this morning at an undisclosed Sunoco gas station in Philadelphia.

Bush Signs Iraq Funding Bill

Even Dems realize defeat is a losing proposition!

Readers may be forgiven if they were unaware that Congress passed and today President Bush signed the latest war funding bill for Iraq. In the past, these bills were a contentious knock down drag out fight with Democrats trying to impose all kinds of conditions that would scuttle the mission and force withdrawal.

With good news continuing to flow out of Iraq (see highlights from the latest quarterly progress report here) Democrats must have realized that it wouldn’t be good politics to trash what is now widely regarded as a successful Iraq strategy so close to the November election.

President George W. Bush delivers a brief statement Monday, June 30, 2008, at the White House after signing H.R. 2642, the Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2008. With him from left are: Deputy U.S. Secretary of State John Negroponte, U.S. Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, U.S. Secretary of Veterans’ Affairs James Peake and John Walters, Director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy. The war supplemental spending package includes nearly $162 billion for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, increased education benefits for veterans, and an additional 13 weeks of unemployment insurance benefits. President Bush Signs H.R. 2642, the Supplemental Appropriations Act
The White House
June 30, 2008

THE PRESIDENT: …I appreciate that Republicans and Democrats in Congress agreed to provide these vital funds without tying the hands of our commanders, and without an artificial timetable of withdrawal from Iraq. Our troops have driven the terrorists and extremists from many strongholds in Iraq; today violence is at the lowest level since March of 2004. As a result of this progress, some of our troops are coming home as result of our policy called “return on success.” We welcome them home. And with this legislation we send a clear message to all that are servings [sic] on the front line that our nation continues to support them.

So much for Nancy Pelosi’s vow upon taking control of Congress in 2006: “my highest priority, immediately, is to stop the war in Iraq.” Will the anti-war left abandon Democrats who have utterly misled them in attempting to stop the war?

Obama Accepts Millions From Subprime Tied Contributors - Part I [Reader Post]

As GOP attacks mount on the issue of Senator Obama's ties to Political Action Committees and Lobbyists, Obama's campaign has undergone little scrutiny on his long-standing ties to the financial and banking community. In Obama's speeches across the country he has repeatedly criticized the Bush administration for allowing "evil" subprime mortgage lenders and investment banks to lead this county into our current mortgage meltdown. Obama's rhetoric on the mortgage crisis has been pointed and blunt, as stated on his own campaign website, "Obama will crack down on fraudulent brokers and lenders…Obama has been closely monitoring the subprime mortgage situation for years, and introduced comprehensive legislation over a year ago to fight mortgage fraud and protect consumers against abusive lending practices".

Throughout the campaign season Obama has attacked Wall Street's financial sector and ran a campaign based largely upon his "good judgement". The problem with Obama's rhetoric rests in the fact that tucked away in his database of 1.5 million donors are the approximately 130,000 power brokers that have funded nearly 60% of his campaign. Included in this list are the more than 350 campaign bundlers who have accounted for over $78 million in contributions.

Among those campaign bundlers is Paul Roth, a partner at Schulte, Roth & Zabel, a firm that represents financial institutions including investment banks, securities firms, and hedge funds. Roth not only contributed to Obama's campaign but also helped to "bundle" more than $50,000 for the Senator. The Obama bundler rolls also include Tom Wheeler, the managing director of Core Capital Partners, a Washington based private equity fund, have helped raise more than $100,000 for the Obama Campaign.

The real problem for Obama extends well beyond his campaign bundlers that include several prominent lobby–representing attorney's and executives such as Frank Clark, the CEO of Commonwealth Edison. Executives across the financial and investment industry have accounted for millions in campaign contributions.

In San Antonia this past February Obama stated in a campaign speech, "To give you a sense of what that kind of lobbying gets you… the CEO of the largest subprime lender was promised a hundred-million-dollar severance package at a time when more than 2 million Americans were facing foreclosure, including nearly 14,000 right here in San Antonio…” Obama was most likely referring to an Angelo R. Mozillo, one of three CEO's that were scheduled to appear to testify in front of a senate committee concerning their compensation and firms roles in the ongoing mortgage crisis. Stanley O'Neal, who received more than $161 million when he was ousted as the Chairman of Merrill Lynch, was one of the three CEO's coming under scrutiny. In 2003, O'Neil donated to Senator Obama's Senatorial campaign, followed up by a maximum $4,600 campaign contribution by he and his wife, Nancy Garvey, to the Obama Campaign. Ironically, the O'Neals tried to originally contribute $6,900 to the campaign only to have $2,300 returned.

O'Neil, Mozillo, and Charles Price have been branded the "poster-child" CEOs of the financial firms responsible for the mortgage meltdown and at least one of the three was a valuable contributor to the Obama campaign.

Also contributing to Obama's cause is the more controversial Brad Morrice, the former CEO and President of the imploded subprime lender, New Century Financial. Morrice and his wife contributed the maximum $4,600 to Obama's campaign last August.

Obama has also accepted campaign contributions from dozens of Lehman Brothers Executives, such as CEO Richard Fuld ($2,300), President Joseph Gregory ($4,600) and dozens of other top Lehman Executives. On June 19th, Lehman shareholders filed suit against Fuld and Gregory for the company's exposure in the subprime market.

Among other subprime contributors to Obama's campaign are Steve Boland, a managing director at Countrywide, who donated the maximum last June. Andrew Beer the president of Wachovia's troubled subprime lender Evergreen Investment Partners also maxed out his contribution to the Obama campaign; and Joseph Azrack, the president of Citigroup Property Investments along with dozens of Citi Executives have heavily contributed.

In 2007 Eric Schwartz, the co-head of Goldman-Sachs Global Asset Management abruptly stepped down from is position, fueling rumors that his resignation was tied to a crumbling Global Alpha Hedge Fund. The Fund's mounting losses led to a -39% performance last year as the fund assets shrunk by 60%. Shwartz, an Obama bundler and contributor, has helped to raise over $50,000 for the Senator's Campaign.

In 2007 Robert Wolf, the CEO of UBS Americas, helped the Obama campaign raise more than $200,000. That amount was equaled by Louis Susman, the Chairman of a Citibank Subsidiary. Joining their efforts was Mark Gilbert, a Senior Vice President of Lehman Brothers.

Additional High Profile Financial Executives Include:

Richard Leweke – Vice Chairman of Washington Mutual Card Services
Seth Waugh – CEO of Deutsche Bank
Charles Lewis – Vice Chairman of Merrill Lynch
Theodore Janulis – Bundler (over $50,000) & Lehman Brothers Head of Global Mortgages
Francisco Borges – Bundler (over $50,000) and Chairman of Landmark Partners a private equity real estate firm.
Nadja Fidelia – Bundler (over $50,000) & Managing Director of Lehman brothers
Michael Froman – Bundler (over $50,000) & Managing Director of Citigroup
David Heller – Bundler (over $200,000) & Managing Director of Goldman Sachs
John Rhea – Bundler & Co-head of Lehman Brothers Global Investment Banking
J. Michael Schell – Bundler (over $100,000) & Managing Director at Citigroup
Jim Torrey – Bundler (over $200,000) and founder of the Torrey Funds – Hedge Funds
Todd Williams – Bundler (over $50,000) & Managing Director Goldman Sachs & The Real Estate Council

The listing of contributions flowing in from Financial Institutions through Senator Obama's career is short of amazing. There are currently dozens upon dozens of Senior Vice Presidents, Managing Directors, and other top level executives from firms such as Lehman Brothers, Wachovia, Washington Mutual, Citigroup, Wells Fargo, UBS, Deutsche Bank, Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, JP Morgan Chase, Morgan Stanley and other high profile Wall Street banks and funds mired in the mortgage meltdown.

Obama has been relentless in his attacks upon the "evil" Wall Street executives that he has blamed for the ongoing fallout from the mortgage crisis, positioning himself on a "moral high ground". The reality is that while Obama has been slapping the mortgage companies and investment banks with one hand, he has had his other hand in their wallet.

Harry Reid - "Coal Ruining Our Country!"

Only Harry Reid would say something so out of this world ignorant:

"the one thing we fail to talk about is those costs that you don’t see on the bottom line. That is coal makes us sick, oil makes us sick; it’s global warming. It’s ruining our country, it's ruining our world. We've got to stop using fossil fuel."

The guy is a walking billboard of hyperbole.

The war is lost

This flu is going to strike us all, me, my children, my grandchildren; and if they get it, half of them are going to die unless we do something to stop it

I’m sure his dad gave him a pat on the back, but it’s a back pat he’s going to regret.” (On Bush selecting Cheney as his VP in 2000)

"The Iraqi war is hopeless and the situation in Iraq is same as it was in Vietnam."

And so on….the man is an embarrassment to the Senate and the Democrat party. When we have an alternative to fossil fuels that is cost effective and won’t destroy our economy then I’m sure we all would be happy to switch over. But until then just friggin drill. As Thomas Pyle, President of the Institute for Energy Research, said today:

Members of Congress have been questioning witnesses and pounding podiums for the news cameras, but they have done nothing to increase American oil production by even one single barrel. Families are paying the price of Washington's willful refusal to do what we all know must be done. American taxpayers own the federal lands, and they own the vast energy resources that lie beneath them too. If the federal government continues to withhold these supplies, how is it any different from OPEC?

The only thing the Democrats have done over the last 30 years of denying our country to ability to drill is made us dependent on other countries for our survival. Its ludicrous to think we have all this oil under our own feet but can’t get it our because of some spotted frog or other such nonsense.

And instead of talking about that Harry Reid embarrasses himself with “the world is lost” kind of crapola.

Get a grip Senator.

Mugabe Sworn In After Landslide Win…Also…Pigs Fly [Reader Post]

mugabe.jpg

Robert Mugabe, Zimbabwean thug-o-crat and faux President was sworn in for a sixth term after a reign of terror launched against all who opposed his bid for re-election. Mugabe, who has taken an economically sound nation which had a strong manufacturing base, mining industry (it is rich in natural resouces) thriving agricultural as well as tourism industies, and turned it into one of the world’s biggest economic basket cases.

Over the last seven years, Professor Craig Richardson of Salem College estimates the economy has shrunk by 40 percent, wiping out almost 60 years of gradual economic improvements. The standard of living has dropped to levels last seen in 1948. The World Health Organization estimates that Zimbabwe has the world's lowest life expectancy — 34 years for women and 37 years for men.

Unemployment is at 80 percent. The currency is nearly worthless and inflation currently exceeds 3,700 percent per year. Last week, the black-market exchange rate for one U.S. dollar reached 40,000 Zimbabwean dollars.

The economic meltdown has led to environmental devastation. Zimbabwe, once known for its flourishing wildlife, used to have a sophisticated tourism industry that accounted for up to 6 percent of the country's GDP. Hunger and lawlessness have put an end to that.

Brian Gratwicke, an Oxford-educated environmentalist and Zimbabwean national who runs a U.S-based nature and wildlife website estimates that "Eighty percent of 250,000 head of game that lived on privately owned commercial farms have been poached by land invaders – often with the encouragement of senior ZANU-PF officials who wanted to wrest control of the farms from their rightful owners." To make matters worse, Gratwicke argues, chronic environmental problems such as deforestation and overgrazing, water pollution, uncontrolled fires, human-wildlife conflict, and wildlife-borne disease are spreading through Zimbabwe.

Needless to say, this nightmare has not been accomplished without a corresponding downturn in the country’s’ human rights condition. Copiously documented here, the violations are a stark indictment of the human suffering taking place under Mugabe:

The ruling party’s dominant control and manipulation of the political process through intimidation and corruption effectively negated the right of citizens to change their government. Unlawful killings and politically motivated kidnappings occurred. The state sanctioned the use of excessive force and torture, and security forces tortured members of the opposition, union leaders, and civil society activists. Prison conditions were harsh and life threatening. Security forces arbitrarily arrested and detained journalists, demonstrators, and religious leaders; lengthy pretrial detention was a problem. Executive influence and interference in the judiciary were problems. The government continued to forcibly evict citizens and to demolish homes. The government continued to use repressive laws to suppress freedom of speech, press, assembly, movement, association, and academic freedom. Government corruption and impunity remained widespread. High ranking government officials made numerous public threats of violence against demonstrators. The following human rights violations also continued to occur: harassment of human rights and humanitarian nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) and interference with their attempts to provide humanitarian assistance; violence and discrimination against women; child labor and prostitution; discrimination against persons with disabilities and ethnic minorities; an increase in the number of HIV/AIDS orphans and child-headed households; harassment and interference with labor organizations critical of government policies; and attempts to supplant legitimate labor leaders with hand-picked supporters.

The current election is a well documented fraud, in which Mugabe’s main opponent, Morgan Tsvangirai pulled out before the voting, after escalating attacks on him and his supporters.

The Mugabe-appointed Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) said the 84-year-old incumbent won Friday’s run-off presidential election, in which he was the only candidate, with 85.51 per cent of the vote.

Those Zimbabweans who cannot prove that they voted for Mugabe are currently being hunted down and assaulted by his bands of traveling thugs.

The vaunted “international community” has been utterly ineffectual in dealing with the situation. A number of Mugabe’s African neighbors are supporting him, thereby facilitating the atrocities. A review of those neighbor’s and their positions toward him are illustrative of their impotence and/or complicity:

The African Union – Mugabe’s opponents and allies

ANGOLA

The most surprising criticism of Mugabe came from the Angolan president, Jose Dos Santos, who has been one of Mugabe’s staunchest allies. In a message sent to Mugabe yesterday, Dos Santos said he welcomed the Zimbabwean’s statement that he is open to negotiations with MDC leader Morgan Tsvangirai.

BOTSWANA

Botswana’s president, Seretse Ian Khama, is the only African leader so far to make an official protest against Robert Mugabe’s reign of terror. Botswana has seen its population of fewer than two million invaded by 800,000 Zimbabwean refugees. Mr Khama said he was “deeply disturbed” by Mugabe’s politically-motivated arrests.

KENYA

Kenyan prime minister Raila Odinga has called on the international community to demand that Mugabe steps down from power, describing the run-off vote as a “shame to Africa”.

MOZAMBIQUE

The government of Mozambique has called for renewed dialogue between Mugabe’s Zanu-PF party and the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) to solve the crisis. “We lament the loss of human lives (in the period before the first election on 29 March and before the uncontested run-off on 27 June], and hope that the injured make a speedy recovery,” a statement read.

NAMIBIA

Namibia’s Swapo government has been an unwavering ally of Robert Mugabe, and last week the country’s foreign minister, Marco Hausiku, described reports of electoral violence in Zimbabwe as “unverified rumours”. The “Swapo Elders Council,” comprising top party members, issued a statement blaming western countries for the crisis and urged Zimbabwean citizens to vote for Mugabe in the run-off.

TANZANIA

The handling of the Zimbabwe crisis by Tanzanian president Jakaya Kikwete, current chairman of the 53-member African Union (AU), has been severely criticised by Amnesty International. In a statement, Amnesty said Mr Kikwete’s silence on Zimbabwe has been “deafening and is contrary to its own principles of respect for human rights and the rule of law”.

ZAMBIA

Zambian president Levy Mwanawasa has said: “What is happening in Zimbabwe is a matter of serious embarrassment to all of us.”

President Bush has been one of the strongest world leaders in condemning Mugabe and attempting to remove him from power.

United States President, Mr. George W. Bush, has ordered tougher sanctions against the Zimbabwean government headed by Mr. Robert Mugabe for “the regime’s blatant disregard for the Zimbabwean people’s democratic will and human rights”.

The hard slam from the American government is coming as Mugabe is to be sworn in as Zimbabwe’s president today, following his victory in a run-off election boycotted by the opposition candidate, Mr. Morgan Tsvangirai.

Bush, in a directive to his top aides including secretaries of state and the treasury, said the US was compiling sanctions and would also champion international campaign for sanctions against the administration, including an arms embargo.

He said the move was in response to “the Mugabe regime’s blatant disregard for the Zimbabwean people’s democratic will and human rights”.

While Bush’s actions are significant, pressure must continue to be applied until Mugabe is finally pushed from powere.

Robert Mugabe must go.

Who Will Win the Crucial Criminal Vote? [Reader Post]

Following the Obama, Clinton unity party in Unity, New Hampshire the Democratic Party is still divided. Barack and Hillary said all the right things,

“We have stood toe to toe in the hard-fought primary,” Clinton said. Now, she told the crowd, they are “shoulder to shoulder” and “our paths have merged.”

When Clinton said, “I am proud that we had a spirited dialogue,” the crowd started to chuckle. She paused and added, for an even bigger laugh, “That was the nicest way I could think of phrasing it.”

It seems that Hillary’s hard-core supporters are not buying it. One day after the Obama and Clinton had their little unity party a group of pro-Hillary vandals tagged 60 vehicles in Orlando, Florida with anti-Obama and anti-McCain messages.

This is just more evidence that Obama is having a hard time winning over another key demographic that supported Hillary; criminals. Criminals have long been a key voting block for the Democratic Party, they have fought to restore voting rights to felons and objected in 2000 when Florida removed convicts from the voting rolls. Salon.com argued that Al Gore would be President today if these felons where allowed to vote.

The question we all need to ask is, can McCain appeal to the criminal vote that was once the exclusive domain of the Clintons? Or will they eventually grit their teeth and vote for Barack?

Wesley Clark Demeans McCain's Wartime Experience

Obama had the chutzpah to send his surrogate military spokesperson, Gen. Wesley Clark, to denigrate McCains military experience. Yeah, you heard me right. The man with no experience, Barack Obama, is saying McCain’s military experience is not enough:

Gen. Wesley Clark, acting as a surrogate for Barack Obama's campaign, invoked John McCain's military service against him in one of the more personal attacks on the Republican presidential nominee this election cycle.

Clark said that McCain lacked the executive experience necessary to be president, calling him "untested and untried" on CBS' "Face the Nation." And in saying so, he took a few swipes at McCain's military service.

Of course he leaves out the one term as a Congressman, and the four terms as a Senator for a total of 26 years of experience. To Obama’s year and half.

"I don't think getting in a fighter plane and getting shot down is a qualification to become president."

And what kind of experience does Obama have that makes him qualified to become President General?

What a pathetic, weaselly attack. Not unexpected from the sort that cavorts with the enemy tho: (via In From The Cold)

Contrast John McCain’s conduct to that of Wesley Clark. During the 1990s, Clark and other Clinton Administration envoys envoys met with notorious Serbian leaders, including General Ratko Mladic, leader of the Bosnia Serb Army, and a wanted war criminal. By various accounts, Mladic was responsible for the deaths of thousands of Muslims and Croat civilians.

During one highly-publicized meeting Mladic and Clark, all smiles, gladly exchanged hats, and posed for photographers. It was a particularly shameful moment, one that General Clark never mentions. Making matters worse (if that’s possible), the infamous “hat-swap” meeting, which occurred in 1994, was not officially authorized. “It’s like cavorting with Hermann Goering” one U.S. official complained at the time.

Spook also makes another valid point:

No one doubts that Clark performed admirably in Vietnam, and suffered for his country. But, it’s worth noting that the young infantry officer had the benefit of a medevac and the finest U.S. medical care after his injuries on the battlefield. John McCain didn’t see an American doctor for almost six years following his ejection and capture in North Vietnam. During that time, he received “medical treatment” that was crude, at best, and almost died from his wounds.

We also recall that Mr. McCain conducted himself with honor under those extraordinarily trying conditions. Offered repatriation when his captors discovered that he was the son of a Navy admiral, McCain declined, demanding that all prisoners captured before him also be released. He also resisted enemy propaganda efforts, though he signed one “confession” of war crimes after months of beatings and other forms of physical abuse.

This is a losing argument for the left and Obama. They have a man with no experience whatsoever telling us that McCain’s courage and bravery while a POW does not qualify him to be President…..classic.

Even more classic is the fact that McCain has never said that his military service is what qualified him for the job. The culmination of his military and political career is what qualifies him.

Jim McCormack:

Clark’s attack is a bit like saying that JFK’s boat getting sunk wasn’t a qualification to become president in 1960.

McQ:

But here’s a question: if the willingness to fight for your country, put your life on the line and suffer the brutality McCain suffered as a POW doesn’t make the cut as far as qualifications go, how far below that does a “community organizer” show up on the list of non-qualifications?

More here.

UPDATE

Who said this?

“I live by a simple rule. If you wore the uniform, if you served your nation with honor, and especially if you fought and were wounded in battle, then you have earned the right to be treated with respect.”

“That’s why I am so outraged that the Republican party has systematically attacked the wartime service and patriotism of veterans who are running for office as Democrats. It is despicable — the sign of a party more concerned about hanging onto power by any means possible than with giving veterans the respect they have earned.”

And kinda off-topic but Joe Lieberman tells us what kind of disaster Obama would have wrought if he would have got his way in Iraq:

Flight 93 Memorial Blogburst: Park Service Refuses To Say Who Broke The Circle

Blogburst logo, petition

The planned Flight 93 memorial is described as a circle “broken in two places,” with the unbroken part forming a giant Mecca-oriented crescent (originally called the Crescent of Embrace).

Since last week, the Park Service has been inundated with hundreds of emails, demanding to know WHO is being depicted as breaking the circle.

It can only be the terrorists. The circle is a symbol of peace, and only the terrorists can be charged with breaking the peace on 9/11.

Thus the planned memorial shows the terrorists breaking our peaceful circle and turning it into a giant Mecca oriented crescent (which remains completely intact in the so-called redesign). In other words, it’s one giant: “ALLAHU AKBAR!” (heard on Flight 93’s flight recorder as the doomed flight careened towards the ground).

Superintendent Hanley’s reply

Our emailers are getting a lengthy response from Memorial Project Superintendent Joanne Hanley that fails to address the question of who broke the circle. She mentions the question, then heads off in another direction:

You also had questions about “who broke the circle.” The natural topography of the site upon which the memorial sits is in the shape of a bowl, or a circle. This “circle of embrace” follows the geography, and points your attention down to the Sacred Ground, the crash site where the 40 heroes of Flight 93 gave their lives combating the terrorists. The trees surrounding this “circle of embrace” are missing, or broken, in two places; first, where the flight path of the plane came overhead (which is the location of the planned memorial overlook and visitor center) and second, where the plane crashed at the Sacred Ground (depicted by a ceremonial gate and pathway into the Sacred Ground).

No, the topography is NOT a bowl. The upper arm of the crescent starts 100 vertical feet above the crash site while the lower arm circles 50 vertical feet below the crash site. Beyond misrepresenting the topography, all Hanley does is admit that the circle is broken at the point where the flight path crosses it, without ever addressing the simple question of WHO is being depicted as breaking the circle?

This circle-breaking theme is the Park Service’s OWN explanation for the crescent design (passed on from architect Paul Murdoch), and they refuse to even THINK about what it means.

Park Service Director Mary Bomar is even more oblivious

Director Bomar also received our emails. The response she is sending out does not even acknowledge the question of who breaks the circle:

Thank you for your e mail of June 24, 2008, concerning the Flight 93 National Memorial. The National Park Service (NPS) is aware of these concerns, and took steps in 2005 to investigate this issue. Please be assured that we are all committed to having a national memorial that conveys the full honor due to the heroes of Flight 93, not to the terrorists. Our priority now is to move forward with the building of the memorial, and to continue to commemorate those heroes who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.

You may want to visit the park’s website for more in-depth information

at:

www.nps.gov…

Mary A. Bomar, Director, National Park Service

Actually it was in 2006 that the office of Mary Bomar herself (then a regional director of the Park Service)”took steps,” utterly fraudulent steps, “to investigate this issue.”

The Park Service’s own consulting expert, a professor of Sharia law at Indiana University named Kevin Jaques, admitted that the giant Mecca-oriented crescent is similar to the Mecca-direction indicator (called a mihrab) around which every mosque is built, but he assured the Park Service that there was no need to worry because no one has ever seen a mihrab anywhere near this BIG before:

Thirdly, most mihrabs are small, rarely larger than the figure of a man, although some of the more ornamental ones can be larger, but nothing as large at [sic] the crescent found in the site design. It is unlikely that most Muslims would walk into the area of the circle/crescent and see a mihrab because it is well beyond their limit of experience. Again, just because it is similar does not make it the same.

This is the information that Mary Bomar had in her hands TWO YEARS AGO: a blatantly dishonest excuse for not being concerned about what was admitted to be the geometric equivalent of the Mecca-direction indicator around which every mosque is built, only bigger than any ever seen before by a factor of a hundred. “Don’t worry. It might be recognizable as a mihrab to people on jetliners like Flight 93 flying overhead, but from the ground? Pshaw!”

Every iota of the Mary Bomar’s phony “investigation” was just as blatantly fraudulent. (Extended expose here.)

Daily American reporter decides to mark our emails as spam and block the senders

Hundreds of people emailing the Park Service demanding to know who broke the circle is NEWS. To pass this news on to the Pennsylvania press, several reporters and press outlets were cc’ed, in hopes that they would do their jobs and ask Park Service officials what answers they are giving.

When Daily American reporter Vicki Rock was asked by telephone if she was following up with the Park Service, she said:

… we pay no attention to mass emails like the people have been sending us. And I block them from emailing me again.

As if the Daily American has EVER been the subject of any kind of email campaign before. These emails are NOT spam. They are from individual Americans, taking time out from their day to warn about an enemy plot that Vicki Rock should have exposed long ago.

It takes literally two minutes to fact-check the Mecca orientation of the giant crescent. (Just print out a graphic of the direction to Mecca from Somerset as calculated by Islam.com, place it over the crescent site-plan on your computer screen, and VOILA.) How come this reporter has never done it? And why is she treating news (that people are demanding a simple answer to a devastating question), as a hostile action against herself?

Same answer to both questions. She sees herself as a defender of the Memorial Project and the crescent design. Maintaining that defense requires willful blindness to voluminous evidence of terrorist memorializing intent. The press is as much involved in this behavior as Joanne Hanley and Mary Bomar and the other Project Partners. (Advisory Commission member Tim Baird said last year that ALL of the Project Partners know about the Mecca-orientation of the giant crescent.)

Compared to this, seeing a reporter poke her own eyes out, trying to blind herself permanently to news about people confronting the Memorial Project, is hardly even strange.

Another letter?

We can keep on dumping emails on the Memorial Project if we want. Our petition to stop the memorial asks if signatories want to join an email list for doing things like forwarding emails to targeted individuals. Most are clicking “yes,” and the present campaign has as yet only tapped the first few thousand signatories.

Perhaps it is time for another letter, pointing out that:

Misrepresenting the topography of the crash site to be a bowl does nothing to answer the question of WHO BROKE THE CIRCLE. (Press people can read about the non-answers from Superintendent Hanley and Director Bomar here.)

Go ahead if you have a mind to. (Email link here.)
